For any knitter wanting to take their knitting to the next level, it is possible to create knitted fabrics for socks, sock tubes, yoga socks, legwarmers, hats, cowls, headbands, gloves, mittens and scarves, IF they have thoroughly looked into every aspect of sock making techniques required to use this machine.
Knitters with lots of experience would not necessarily become instant experts in producing knits on this Dual Tension Cam System 3D CSM, as it requires a great deal of patience and practice.
But, with a little know-how and some creativity to tweak some of your knitting skills, you can definitely bring out the best in creating your chosen knitting projects.
Don't be deceived by it's apparent simplicity, the settings and adjustments of this machine are every bit as complicated, if not more so, than the metal CSM's.

Unlike other plastic CSM's this model will make an appropriate size sock, but it will take you longer.
The circular sock knitting machine has been 3D printed with PLA Plus Filament in the Ashcroft Studio workshop on a Creality Printer.
PLA Plus Filament is durable and non-toxic. This "Green Plastic" is a bio-degradable type of plastic, manufactured out of plant based resources, such as corn starch or sugar cane.
The CSM is easy to use, is portable and lightweight. It clamps onto any worktop, table or desk and does not take up a lot of space. It works in a circular motion with the speed controlled by the handle, which is located at the front of the casing and can be used in a clockwise or a counter clockwise motion. This central placement of the handle benefits both right and left handed knitters.

To change the cylinder all you have to do is to unscrew it from the base, using the number 2 screwdriver provided.
Two strands of yarn and the needle should fit comfortably into each slot.
The yarn feeder on the CSM is stationary. As you turn the handle the cylinder rotates, moving the needles upwards towards the yarn feeder. This moves the needles into a working position, so the yarn hooks onto the needles and forms the stitch. The needles are held in place by an elasticized band. (in contrast, the yarn feeder on metal CSM’s rotate around a stationary cylinder).
The CSM comes with a cast on sock basket, buckle and two weights. The knitter only has to thread the sock yarn using the tension rod and the yarn feeder on the machine and you’re good to go!
